The Monaco Press Club marked its 20th anniversary with a celebratory evening at the Méridien Beach Plaza…
Attended by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, journalists, communicators, and longtime supporters of the organisation, the event, which coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Sovereign’s reign, highlighted two decades of dialogue, debate, and media engagement at the heart of the Principality.
Founded in 2005 by journalist Bernard Spindler and François Chan, then Director of Communications, the Club was built on an idea first imagined in 2000 by Jacqueline Berti and Frédéric Diétryck—to create a space where international personalities and local media could regularly meet. Over the years, the Club has hosted a wide range of events featuring political figures, business leaders, and cultural voices.
Tinia Colman, the current President, reflected on the Club’s mission to foster relevant conversation across a broad range of subjects, from the environment to artificial intelligence. A recent milestone event welcomed National Council President Thomas Brezzo, who discussed a new legal initiative to formally recognise journalism as a profession in Monaco.
The Press Club’s monthly events will resume after a summer break, with a September meeting featuring Christophe Aulnette, former head of Microsoft France and Asia, now an entrepreneur and author. Upcoming programming will also include training sessions for journalists and communicators on the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools. As the Club enters its third decade, its commitment to thoughtful media discourse in Monaco remains strong.
