Monaco’s express and experimental bus routes, first introduced in April 2024, are undergoing adjustments designed to better align with passenger demand and improve the overall efficiency of the service.

Beginning on Monday, July 28, two of the key routes will be extended to enhance accessibility across the Principality. The X1 line will now continue as far as the Rocher, offering a more convenient link from the Salines car park to the heart of Monaco’s old town. Meanwhile, the X2 will be extended to Portier, improving access to the eastern waterfront area. These changes come alongside an increase in frequency, with buses on both routes now operating every 14 minutes instead of the previous 20-minute intervals.

In contrast, the X4 line will be discontinued due to insufficient ridership. Passengers who previously used this route are advised to switch to the X3, which largely replicates the same path, with the exception of the Saint-Roman stop.

With these changes, the X1 will now serve Jardin Exotique, Belgique, Place d’Armes and Rocher. The X2 will stop at Jardin Exotique, Pont Sainte-Dévote, Monte-Carlo Tourisme and Portier. The X3 will connect Albert II, Fontvieille (either the Port or Shopping Centre, depending on direction), Place d’Armes or Princesse Antoinette/Sainte-Dévote, and continue to Portier and Larvotto.

A newly updated map is available to help commuters visualise the modified routes and understand the points of connection between them.

These adjustments mark another step in Monaco’s ongoing effort to create a smoother, more responsive public transport system. The Government remains attentive to the needs of users and invites further feedback via the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco at contact@cam.mc.
