The Embassy of Monaco in France hosted a distinguished evening in Paris to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the accession of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II on Thursday, July 10. The event, held under the direction of Monaco’s Ambassador to France and Andorra, H.E. Valérie Bruell-Melchior, brought together an influential crowd of nearly 350 guests.

Joining the Ambassador was H.E. Anne-Marie Boisbouvier, Monaco’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO, along with a wide array of high-profile attendees. Among them were French Ministry of Foreign Affairs representatives, the Apostolic Nuncio, ambassadors accredited to Monaco and based in Paris, UNESCO diplomats, and key figures from the broader Parisian diplomatic community—all reflecting the Principality’s deep-rooted ties with France and international partners.

The guest list extended beyond the political and diplomatic spheres, with delegates from international organisations, civil society leaders, and Monegasque elected officials present in the capital that evening.

In her remarks, Ambassador Bruell-Melchior underscored the enduring strength of Franco-Monegasque relations, recently reinforced by the State visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Monaco in June. She highlighted Monaco’s steadfast commitment to human rights, the rule of law, and diplomacy as a tool for peaceful resolution.

She also reiterated the Principality’s dedication to addressing global challenges, notably through initiatives such as the Blue Economy and Finance Forum, which promotes sustainable ocean governance—a cause championed by Prince Albert II.

The evening was both a celebration and a reflection, paying tribute to two decades of visionary leadership. Ambassador Bruell-Melchior praised the Prince’s unwavering ambition for Monaco, acknowledging the stability and forward-looking development he has fostered throughout his reign.
