As part of the Monte-Carlo Star Festival, celebrated chef Yannick Alléno hosted a four-hands dinner at the Monte-Carlo Pavilion, inviting his close friend and renowned Italian chef Davide Oldani to collaborate on a one-night-only culinary event…

The evening brought together two culinary universes, Alléno’s modern French gastronomy, known for its sophisticated sauce work, and Oldani’s pioneering “pop cuisine,” which balances traditional Italian ingredients with contemporary flair. The result was a refined and harmonious menu designed to reflect not only their culinary talents but also their friendship, mutual respect, and shared love for Monaco.

Oldani, who holds two Michelin stars and a Green Star for sustainability, was particularly moved to return to the Principality, where he once lived and worked. “Coming back to Monaco is always special,” he said, recalling the beauty and inspiration of the Riviera.

The chefs created a seasonal tasting menu that included a tomato seed soup with mussel ice cream, poached sole with a delicate yellow sauce, and a stroganoff-style roast beef with paprika-scented apples, rice, and vodka-spiked sauce. The meal concluded with a sublime strawberry dessert featuring a crispy arlette and a hint of shallot.

The dinner was prepared live in an open kitchen, allowing guests to witness the magic unfold. Facing the Rock of Monaco, the setting offered a fitting stage for this celebration of culinary excellence. More than just a feast, the dinner embodied the spirit of collaboration, creativity, and conviviality that defines the Monte-Carlo Star Festival; an unforgettable experience for all those lucky enough to attend.
