Monaco’s Larvotto neighbourhood is getting a fresh injection of local flavour, as a new weekly market is set to launch this Thursday, July 17. The initiative, championed by Marjorie Crovetto, Deputy Mayor in charge of the Municipal Trade and Market Services, is the latest move by the Mairie to breathe new life into the city’s districts and bring services closer to residents.
Dubbed “Le Petit Marché du Larvotto,” the pop-up market will take place every Thursday morning from 8:00 to 13:00 near the Lartigue Fountain on the eastern end of the Larvotto esplanade. A small but carefully curated selection of vendors—including a local fruit and vegetable grower—will offer seasonal produce, with an emphasis on organic goods.
The Larvotto market joins Monaco’s existing trio of open-air markets in Monte-Carlo, La Condamine, and Monaco-Ville, extending the reach of fresh produce and neighbourhood commerce to the city’s eastern fringe. Its strategic location is designed to serve both locals and visitors in the increasingly popular seaside area.
In line with services offered at other market locations, the Commune has arranged for home delivery of purchases for residents who may have mobility challenges or simply need help carrying their shopping home.
The new market is not just about groceries—it’s about community. With this initiative, the Mairie reinforces its broader aim of transforming public spaces into vibrant, accessible, and people-centred places to live and shop.
