Monaco’s Public Safety service celebrated its latest generation of officers in a formal decoration ceremony held on Monday at the Auditorium Rainier III…
The 2025 “Napoléon de la Londe” promotion, named in tribute to the first Director of Public Safety appointed in 1902, saw 27 new agents and seven lieutenants officially join the ranks of the Principality’s police force. In the presence of Monaco’s Minister of the Interior, the graduates received their epaulettes and professional cards after completing a rigorous year-long training programme.
This training, delivered through Monaco’s police academy, included an extensive combination of legal instruction, operational drills, self-defence techniques, and internships across different units. Depending on their final results, new officers have now been assigned to various departments including the judicial section, the urban patrol division, and night operations.
For many of the recruits, this moment represents the fulfilment of a lifelong calling. One newly decorated officer shared that the ceremony was “a consecration,” adding that their promise to protect Monaco and serve its residents goes back to their years as a scout. Another, a former gendarme in France, said he was proud to now serve the Principality and committed to giving the best of himself in his new role.
The entire class of 2025 was blessed by Father Julien Gollino during the event. All agents and lieutenants will officially take up their duties on 9 July, beginning a new chapter in their careers with a shared commitment to uphold security and serve the Principality with honour.
