Monaco concluded a historic campaign at the 2025 Games of the Small States of Europe (JPEE) in Andorra, securing a record 44 medals—surpassing the previous best of 33 from Malta 2023…

The Monegasque delegation, comprising 123 athletes, achieved 16 gold, 13 silver, and 15 bronze medals, finishing fourth in the overall nations ranking behind Cyprus, Luxembourg, and Iceland. The strong showing was particularly notable in swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, and judo.

Judo emerged as a standout discipline, with Monegasque judokas claiming seven medals, including five gold. Star performances included double gold medallists Marvin Gado, a Paris 2024 Olympian, and Sarah Omeda, who was also the team’s flag bearer. Rising talents like 16-year-old Homera Ari and Abdou further contributed to Monaco’s medal tally, signalling a promising future as the Principality prepares to host the next edition of the Games in 2027.

During the closing ceremony, the official flag was ceremoniously handed over to Monaco, symbolising the transition and setting the stage for the 2027 Games. This marks the third time the Principality will host the event. The event’s unifying spirit was widely praised, highlighting the camaraderie across nationalities and sports disciplines. JPEE Technical Commission President Jean-Pierre Schoebel, who steps down after 15 years, called the event a fitting finale to his tenure.
