Monaco reaffirmed its international outreach on Friday, May 30, as four newly appointed ambassadors were officially accredited to the Principality. The occasion marked a step forward in diplomatic engagement with Iran, Thailand, the Czech Republic and Turkmenistan.

Following the formal presentation of their credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, the diplomats were welcomed by Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Government Counsellor-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, during a luncheon held at the Hôtel Hermitage.

Among the newly accredited envoys was Mohammad Amin Nejad, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who previously served in Niger and holds concurrent accreditation to Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon and Liberia. He was joined by Sarun Charoensuwan, Thailand’s Ambassador, who arrived from a posting in Belgium. Jaroslav Kurfürst, representing the Czech Republic and also formerly posted in Belgium, was likewise welcomed. Rounding off the group was Maksat Chariev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan, who also serves as his country’s Permanent Delegate to UNESCO and is accredited to Portugal, operating out of Paris.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the ongoing relations between Monaco and each of the represented countries, with a focus on reinforcing cooperation and friendship. Present at the event were also the Honorary Consuls of Thailand and the Czech Republic, as well as representatives of the Monaco Economic Board and Monaco Private Label, underlining the Principality’s intent to combine diplomatic dialogue with economic and cultural partnership building.
