PhiloMonaco Week returns from June 10 to 15, bringing philosophy out of the classroom and into daily life, with an expanded programme designed to engage the widest possible audience…

Spearheaded by Charlotte Casiraghi and now marking a decade since the founding of Les Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco, the event has grown into a fixture of the Principality’s cultural calendar, combining serious thought with accessible themes and unique locations.

This year’s central theme is truth, explored through a wide range of topics including family secrets, honesty in art, childhood education, and even the pursuit of the “truth of the muscles.” Discussions will unfold across the city, from the Théâtre des Variétés to the Condamine Market and Monte-Carlo’s iconic establishments like the Yacht Club and Hôtel Hermitage.

As Casiraghi explains, the aim is to make philosophy resonate with the concerns of everyday life, especially for younger generations facing an increasingly complex world.

What began as a niche initiative has steadily built a loyal audience, thanks in large part to outreach in schools and hospitals, and an emphasis on themes like mental health. The week also features a deliberate effort to include new voices and fresh perspectives, proving that philosophy, when made accessible and relevant, can be both intellectually enriching and deeply human.

All events are free and open to the public.
