In a special ceremony held on Thursday morning, eight new recruits to the Prince’s Carabinieri Corps received their official insignia in the presence of their families and Her Serene Highness Princess Stéphanie…

The event marked the culmination of four months of initial training and the beginning of a full year of further preparation as the recruits step into active service across the Principality.

For the new Carabiniers, this milestone represents not only a personal achievement but a deep commitment to the values of service, discipline, and loyalty. “It’s the prestige of the uniform, the honour of serving the Prince and his family, and the range of responsibilities within the Corps that drew me to this role,” shared one of the recruits, who will also contribute musically as a member of the Carabinieri orchestra.

Princess Stéphanie’s presence underlined the ceremony’s significance, as she presented the insignia with words that echoed the dedication expected of the Corps: to serve with honour, loyalty, and a willingness to embrace the demands of the role.

While the number of applicants continues to decline annually, the Corps still attracts candidates who are drawn to the rare opportunity to serve a head of state in such a distinctive role. As of next week, the newly badged Carabiniers will begin their duties, upholding the traditions of one of Monaco’s most respected institutions.
