Monaco is preparing to open its doors to thinkers, writers, and the philosophically curious as the third edition of PhiloMonaco Week returns from June 10 to 15. This year’s theme—Truth—will serve as the guiding thread through six days of intellectual exchange and public dialogue held across the Principality.

The event is part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco, a forum founded to bring philosophical thought into public life. Over the past decade, the initiative has built a reputation for fostering open, rigorous conversation on the complexities of the modern world. Philosophy, in Monaco, is no longer confined to the academy—it’s something you encounter in the market square, at the theatre, and even on the terrace of the Yacht Club.

Throughout the week, Monaco’s most iconic venues will host an ambitious programme of talks, book launches, debates, and interactive discussions. Daily Matinales will take place at the Marché de la Condamine from 10:00 to 11:00, offering attendees the chance to exchange ideas with speakers in a relaxed, open setting.

Meanwhile, the Théâtre Princesse Grace will be transformed into the “Maison de la Philosophie,” serving as the central hub for a packed calendar of events including keynote lectures, philosophical lunches, youth workshops and thematic panels. Additional gatherings will unfold at venues including the Café de Paris, the Hôtel Hermitage, and the Yacht Club de Monaco—bringing philosophy into the heart of the city’s everyday rhythm.

The highlight of the week will be the official awards ceremony on the evening of Thursday, June 12, also at the Théâtre Princesse Grace. Hosted by cultural advisor Thierry Consigny, the event will bring together jury members and founding figures of the Rencontres. Philosopher Pierre Guenancia, who won the 2024 Prize for his book L’Homme sans moi. Essai sur l’identité, will give a keynote address titled What is Philosophy? The evening will culminate with the announcement of the 2025 laureates, including the Honorary Mention and the Youth Prize, which recognises works that bring clarity to the pressing questions of our time.

All events are open to the public.
