Pawprints will replace red carpets once more as the 2025 edition of Monaco’s International Dog Show takes over the Chapiteau de Fontvieille on Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11. Promising record participation, this year’s show is already set to outshine its 2024 predecessor.
Organised by the Monaco Canine Society under the presidency of Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, the event will see over 1,400 elite canines descend on the Principality, representing 262 breeds from 26 countries. It’s not just a dog show — it’s a global gathering of grooming, pedigree, and poise, where tails wag in sync and reputations are made in the ring.
From 9:00 to 18:00. each day, dogs and handlers will parade under the scrutiny of international judges, who are tasked with selecting the crème de la canine crème. Following last year’s triumph by an Australian Shepherd, this year’s spotlight falls on the Picardy Shepherd — a French breed known for its rugged charm and loyalty.
But the stakes are even higher in 2025. Monaco’s event now holds coveted Crufts qualifying status, meaning winners here secure a spot at the world’s most prestigious dog show in Birmingham. It’s a rare honour in the world of competitive canines, placing Monaco firmly on the global dog show circuit.
In addition to the main competition, the event will feature breed presentations, training demonstrations, and opportunities to speak with expert breeders. It’s open to everyone, with tickets priced at 10 euros for adults and free entry for children under 12.
