A new documentary celebrating the unsung heroes of the Monaco Grand Prix premiered to a packed Grimaldi Forum this week…
Over 1,000 guests were in attendance, including His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, for the exclusive screening of Les Anges Gardiens de Monaco. The film, co-produced by Monaco Info and Canal+, shines a powerful spotlight on the 700 volunteer track marshals who ensure the safety of the legendary race each year.
Directed by Franck Florino and produced by Yann-Antony Noghès, grandson of Antony Noghès, founder of the Monaco Grand Prix, the 52-minute film delivers a deeply emotional and behind-the-scenes look at the bravery and dedication of the Principality’s unmistakable “orange army”. Capturing the tension, risks, and pride that come with standing trackside at 300km/h, the documentary is both a tribute and a revelation.
The screening was met with thunderous applause, tears, and heartfelt emotion. “I cried so much,” one marshal said. “Now even my wife understands what it means to be out there.” Another added, “It’s not just what we do — it’s what we are.”
Narrated by Monaco’s own Charles Leclerc, who secured a historic win during the year of filming, the documentary also marks the 50th anniversary of Monaco’s official track marshal corps. With powerful visuals and a soaring score, it encapsulates the spirit of volunteerism and national pride.
Les Anges Gardiens de Monaco airs on Monaco Info on May 24 at 9pm, and again May 25 at 1pm; just in time for fans to dive into Grand Prix weekend.
