The jury for the 2025 edition of the Prix Coup de Cœur des Lycéens, organised by the Prince Pierre Foundation of Monaco, has drawn up its shortlist of novels after meeting this month. Composed of secondary school pupils from Lycée Albert Ier, Lycée François d’Assise–Nicolas Barré, and Lycée Rainier III, the jury has whittled down the contenders for this year’s prize.
Launched in 2007, the award recognises an author for the publication of their first work of fiction. From the seven novels initially preselected at the start of the academic year, the following titles have been retained: Tornade by Simon Fichet (Marchialy), Danse avec tes chaînes by Anaëlle Jonah (Fayard), Un père sur le banc by Damien Lecamp (Léo Scheer), Après la brume by Estelle Rocchitelli (Dalva), and Fracture(s) by Lidwine Van Lancker (Livres Agités).
The shortlisted authors will travel to Monaco on 3 June to present and defend their novels in front of the student jury during a special event. Pupils will then have the summer holidays to delve deeper into the shortlisted works and consider their final decision before casting their votes at the start of the next school year.
The winner will be revealed during the Fondation Prince Pierre prize ceremony at the Opéra Garnier de Monaco on Tuesday, 14 October 2025.
Created in collaboration with the Department of National Education, Youth and Sports, the Prix Coup de Cœur des Lycéens aims to foster an appreciation of contemporary literature among young people, while encouraging critical thinking and personal expression. The award is backed by a €6,000 grant from the Princess Grace Foundation.
