The fifth edition of the Port Hercule Regatta took place on 16th February, bringing together 250 rowers from 18 regional and international clubs for a day of intense competition on the waters of Monaco…
Despite a slight drop in participation due to school holidays, the event maintained its prestige, attracting rowers from Spain, Italy, and the UK as part of the Eurometre Challenge.
The Monaco Nautical Society (SNM), the dominant force in French rowing and winner of the 2023 and 2024 French Rowing Federation club rankings, once again showcased its strength. A total of 19 SNM boats participated, delivering impressive performances across various categories.
The main race course consisted of a 6 km route with a 3 km loop and three buoys to be circled twice. Among the standout performances was the senior double sculls victory by Louis Fontanil and Guillaume Blanc, who dominated their race. The J16 four-man crew from SNM also secured a strong win, demonstrating the depth of talent within the club.
Competitors praised the ideal weather conditions and the great atmosphere created by the international presence, with clubs from Barcelona and London joining the regatta. For many rowers, the event served as a crucial preparation step for the French Championships, with SNM aiming to continue its dominance on the national stage.
With podium finishes across the board, the Monaco Nautical Society reaffirmed its status as France’s premier rowing club, making this year’s Port Hercule Regatta another resounding success.
