The third edition of the Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence took place at the Grand Palais in Paris from 10th to 11th February, bringing together 1,500 participants, including heads of state, government officials, and industry leaders…

The summit aimed to make AI more accessible, understandable, and ethical, while fostering international collaboration on emerging challenges and opportunities in the field.

Monaco was actively engaged in the discussions, with a delegation led by Ambassador Valérie Bruell-Melchior and Frédéric Genta, Interministerial Delegate for Digital Transition and Attractiveness. Their presence underscored the Principality’s commitment to shaping the global AI conversation, with a focus on health, education, economic development, and finance.

On 11th February, the summit concluded with a joint declaration signed by 58 countries, reinforcing a commitment to an inclusive and ethical AI framework. Throughout the event, Monaco’s delegation exchanged insights with global specialists and policymakers, gathering valuable expertise that could enhance AI integration in public and private sectors.

A key moment for Monaco was the presentation of its pioneering achievement in digital infrastructure with the establishment of the first sovereign cloud in Europe. This technological milestone drew admiration from international participants, as many countries have attempted similar initiatives without success.

AI’s role in geopolitics and international relations was another critical discussion point. Diplomats and industry leaders agreed on the need for rapid diplomatic coordination to balance AI’s risks with its immense potential.

Monaco’s participation at the Summit for Action on AI reinforced its reputation as a forward-thinking digital leader. By leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies while advocating for ethical governance, the Principality continues to play an influential role in global discussions on the future of artificial intelligence.
