The Condamine Market Hall in Monaco will welcome seafood enthusiasts for a special sea urchin festival organised by the Monaco Town Hall on February 12, at 18:30…

Guests will have the choice between two tasting options, both priced at 17 euros (excluding drinks). The first includes a plate of six fresh sea urchins served with bread and butter, the perfect way to enjoy their briny, slightly sweet taste, while the second features six oysters and two shrimp.

Sea urchins, often referred to as the “porcupines of the sea,” are a seasonal delicacy known for their delicate flavour. Beyond their culinary appeal, they play an essential role in maintaining marine ecosystems by controlling algae growth. These marine creatures have existed for over 450 million years, making them one of the ocean’s oldest inhabitants.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling +377 93 15 06 04. However, the event is dependent on favourable sea conditions for urchin fishing.
