Monaco is currently facing a surge in phishing attempts targeting residents through fraudulent emails designed to steal personal information and gain control over online accounts, including social media, banking, and administrative services.
Monaco Telecom has issued an urgent advisory to its customers, warning them to remain cautious and avoid interacting with suspicious emails. Customers are strongly advised not to click on any links, reply to messages, open attachments, or share login credentials.
To enhance online security, Monaco Telecom recommends using passwords of at least 12 characters and ensuring each online account has a unique password. A password manager is strongly advised to generate and store complex passwords securely. The password for the Monaco Telecom Client Portal (myMT) must be different from email and other accounts to maximise security.
To assist customers in securing their accounts, Monaco Telecom provides online support through dedicated platforms. Assistance for securing the Client Portal is available in French and English. For securing email accounts, additional support is accessible in French and English.
