The Médiathèque de Monaco has unveiled its January 2025 programme, featuring a range of cultural events tailored for all ages and interests. With film screenings, literary discussions, concerts, and creative workshops spread across its three libraries, the schedule promises a month filled with discovery and engagement.
At the Bibliothèque Louis Notari, film enthusiasts can enjoy two screenings. On Thursday, January 9, at 18:00, Sofia Exarchou’s Animal (2023) will be presented by Jean-Christophe Gay. Later, on Thursday, January 23, at 18:30, Felipe Gálvez Haberle’s Les Colons (2023) will be showcased as part of the “Cycle Singulières histoires andines,” presented by Hervé Goitschel. For literary fans, author Violaine Bérot will discuss her novel Nuits de noces on Tuesday, January 14, at 18:30, and Pauline Déroulède will present her autobiography (Im)possible on Friday, January 17, at 18:30. A literary café will take place on Thursday, January 9, at 12:15, offering a welcoming environment to share favourite books.
Music lovers can attend an open traditional music workshop on Saturday, January 18, from 13:30 to 16:30 (registration required), and guitarist Blagovest Georgiev will perform a concert on Friday, January 31, at 18:30, featuring a repertoire spanning from 1650 to the present day. Additional creative events include a writing workshop led by Éric Lafitte on Monday, January 20, at 15:00, and a zero-waste sewing workshop on Tuesday, January 21, from 14:00 to 17:00. Both require registration. For health-conscious attendees, a conference on eye care by optician Ksenia Jarnova will be held on Thursday, January 30, at 12:15, covering tips to preserve vision and reduce eye strain.
At the Vidéothèque-Sonothèque José Notari, weekly activities are designed to enrich everyday moments. “Picnic Music” concerts are screened every Tuesday at 12:15, and “Jeudi Série” sessions to revisit classic TV series occur every Thursday (except January 30) at 12:15.
The Bibliothèque Princesse Caroline-Ludothèque has curated a variety of events for younger audiences. A role-playing games night for those aged 14 and up is set for Friday, January 10, at 19:00. Families can unwind with a yoga session on Saturday, January 11, from 10:00 to 11:00, suitable for children aged three and above. On Wednesday, January 15, from 15:00 to 16:00, children aged four and older can enjoy Kamishibaï, a Japanese storytelling tradition. No registration is required for these events.
An English reading session, open to participants of all ages, will take place on Saturday, January 18, from 10:30 to 11:00. Young readers can delve into youth literature on Wednesday, January 22, with sessions at 15:00, 15:30, and 16:00. A parent-child craft workshop will follow on Wednesday, January 29, from 15:00 to 16:00, where families can create articulated clown figures.
The Ludothèque also offers activities for toddlers. A musical exploration session is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, from 10:00 to 11:30, followed by sensory workshops on Tuesday, January 21, from 10:00 to 11:30, and reading sessions on Tuesday, January 28, from 10:00 to 11:30. These events are free and require no prior registration.
