Monaco’s Fontvieille district is about to welcome a new 5,000 m² leisure hub, much to the delight of the Principality’s youth and residents along the Côte d’Azur. According to Monaco-Matin, the former site of HSH Prince Albert II’s Car Collection, relocated to Port Hercule in 2022, will transform into a multi-activity entertainment center featuring e-karting, a bowling alley, and an arcade.
The announcement was made by Monaco’s Minister of State, Didier Guillaume, during the first public session on the 2025 preliminary budget. In response to a question from Franck Julien, Guillaume confirmed that the government had selected the project after recommendations from the Commission for the Allocation of State Premises. The center is being spearheaded by a Monegasque entrepreneur with a proven track record, who is expected to commence work soon, aiming for a public opening in March 2025, report Monaco-Matin.
This project responds to growing calls for more entertainment options in Monaco, voiced by members of the National Council and local youth. The Principality has seen the closure of several popular venues in recent years including the Ni-Box entertainment center and an indoor karting track.
While the new center is expected to be a welcome addition, its duration may be temporary due to upcoming redevelopment plans for the Fontvieille shopping center. Decisions on these future works are anticipated by the summer of 2025.
