On Friday, December 6, HSH Princess Charlene, Hereditary Prince Jacques, and Princess Gabriella, alongside Monaco’s highest dignitaries, joined Mayor Georges Marsan and the Municipal Council to officially inaugurate the 2024 Christmas Village at the Port of Monaco…
During his speech, Mayor Marsan expressed gratitude to the dedicated staff ensuring the smooth operation of the Village. The evening began with a performance by La Palladienne, dancing to two Christmas melodies, setting a festive tone for the event.
This year’s theme, “Gingerbread and Holiday Treats,” invites visitors into a magical world of warmth and sugary delights. The Village features 23 gourmet stands, 24 sales chalets, a festive fishing game, thrilling rides, interactive play areas, and a Ferris wheel. Regular entertainment includes Friday evening concerts, children’s creative workshops on weekends and daily during school holidays, and strolling performers and stage shows. The full schedule is available on the website www.mairie.mc.
True to its commitment to sustainability, the Monaco Municipality has implemented eco-friendly measures. Decorations are crafted from recycled polystyrene, and LED lighting operates on a timer from 4:30 p.m. to closing. After the festivities, Christmas trees will be collected and composted by S.M.A. Numerous “Mégot Box” stations collect cigarette butts, while vendors have eliminated plastic utensils and adopted personalized, reusable eco-cups. Additionally, a new feature this year allows customers to take home leftovers in “small boxes,” reducing food waste.
The Christmas Village’s combination of festive charm, sustainability, and diverse activities makes it a must-visit destination this holiday season. Families and visitors of all ages are sure to be captivated by its magical ambiance and eco-conscious spirit. This enchanting seasonal attraction will run until January 5, 2025.
