As is tradition following Monaco’s National Day celebrations, the Department of External Relations convened the Principality’s honorary consuls and diplomatic representatives for a working session at the Salon Belle Époque of the Hôtel Hermitage on Wednesday 20th November.
This annual meeting serves as a cornerstone for strengthening Monaco’s global consular and diplomatic network. The gathering was described as a morning of rich and varied exchanges. Officials emphasized the importance of fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose within the consular and diplomatic family under the guiding principles of HSH Prince Albert II. “These meetings allow us to align with Monaco’s strategic priorities while connecting with colleagues from almost every corner of the globe,” remarked one participant.
At the heart of this year’s discussions were key initiatives and upcoming events shaping Monaco’s agenda. Topics included the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference, to be held in Nice, and the parallel Monaco Forum on Blue Economy and Sustainable Finance. Representatives were also briefed on the Principality’s plans for the Osaka Kansai Expo 2025, where Monaco will showcase its innovative pavilion and contributions to sustainability and culture.
Additional discussions addressed the activities of the Prince Albert I Foundation, as well as Monaco’s ongoing efforts to bolster international appeal through initiatives such as the Monaco Private Label and the Monaco Economic Board (MEB). Minister of State Didier Guillaume announced plans to consolidate these entities by 2025, creating a unified approach to promoting Monaco’s global presence and attractiveness.
This annual meeting highlights Monaco’s proactive approach to diplomacy and global engagement, reaffirming the Principality’s commitment to fostering collaboration and advancing its values on the international stage.
