On Thursday, November 7, Monaco’s Minister of State, H.E. Didier Guillaume, led a Monegasque delegation at the 5th European Political Community Summit in Budapest, Hungary. This high-level meeting gathered over 40 European leaders, including heads of state, the presidents of the European Parliament, European Council, and European Commission, as well as representatives from NATO, the OSCE, and the Council of Europe. Discussions focused on Europe’s pressing security issues, particularly migration and economic stability.
Upon arrival, Minister Guillaume was welcomed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and engaged in informal talks with various European leaders. He also held bilateral meetings with the prime ministers of Luxembourg and Croatia, and the heads of government from Andorra and San Marino to address mutual interests.
Alongside the main summit, Monaco’s Government Counselor for External Relations, Ms. Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, attended a working session led by Hungary’s Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó. The next European Political Community summit is scheduled for early 2025 in Tirana, Albania.

Monaco’s participation underlined its commitment to collective European dialogue and action, reinforcing its dedication to addressing regional security and economic concerns. The Prime Minister’s involvement further showcased Monaco’s role in fostering stability and cooperation on the continent, aligning with the Principality’s ongoing commitment to supporting peace and resilience amid global tensions.
The summit concluded with a press conference led by Orbán and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, set to host the next European Political Community meeting.
