On the evening of November 6, 2024, Monaco firefighters responded to a significant fire at 148 Avenue du Trois-Septembre in Cap-d’Ail…
The blaze erupted in a building housing a garage and an upstairs studio undergoing renovations. Visible from several hundred meters away, the fire prompted immediate deployment of approximately twenty Monaco firefighters to contain the situation and prevent the flames from spreading to neighbouring structures.
The swift response ensured the safety of residents, with Monegasque firefighters bringing four individuals from a nearby building to safety. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Witnesses in the area described hearing a loud detonation, and preliminary investigations suggest that a gas cylinder explosion may have been the cause.
Three fire hoses were used to battle the flames effectively, and by 10:40 p.m., the blaze was deemed “under control,” allowing firefighters to begin inspecting the affected site for further risks or damages. The mayor of Cap-d’Ail, Xavier Beck, and gendarmes from the Alpes-Maritimes were also present to oversee the emergency response.
The professionalism and prompt action of Monaco’s fire service prevented potential escalation, protecting residents and limiting the spread of the fire.
