Two teams from Monaco’s Town Hall embarked on the 8th edition of the E-Rally Monte-Carlo, organised by the Automobile Club of Monaco, on Wednesday, October 23. This prestigious road competition counts toward the Bridgestone FIA ecoRally Cup 2024, a key event in the world championship focused on sustainable mobility.

Coinciding with the upcoming first anniversary of Monaco’s twinning with Dolceacqua, one of the participating teams features Jacques Pastor, Monaco’s Deputy Mayor, alongside Fulvio Gazzola, Mayor of Dolceacqua. The duo is driving a Kia EV6, the same vehicle with which they won the E-Rally Monte-Carlo in 2022. The second team comprises Serge Pastor, Technical Director of Monaco’s Municipal Garage, and his predecessor, Christophe Ponset, driving a Kia E-Niro.

These teams join three other vehicles representing Monaco’s Urban Planning Department, the Public Force of Monaco, and the Monaco Yacht Club, forming the “Daghe Mùnegu” team. Over the course of the rally, they will face a secret route consisting of 14 regularity stages, covering 250 kilometres across the French departments of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, and Var. Throughout the competition, participants must carefully manage their vehicle’s energy consumption.

The rally is set to conclude on Saturday, October 26, at midday.
