Four new ambassadors presented their Letters of Credence to HSH Prince Albert on Thursday, October 17, marking the formal beginning of their diplomatic duties in the Principality. The ceremony was overseen by Marie-Catherine Caruso-Ravera, Director of Diplomatic and Consular Relations, representing the Government Counsellor-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

The new ambassadors represent Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Ethiopia, and Cyprus, each bringing extensive diplomatic experience to their roles.

Pavlos Kombos, the new Ambassador of Cyprus, has a wealth of experience within the European Union, having recently served as Deputy Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the EU. In addition to his accreditation to Monaco, he holds diplomatic roles in France, UNESCO, and the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF).

Manisha Gunasekera, representing Sri Lanka, has 28 years of diplomatic service. She currently serves as Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, while also accredited to Spain, Portugal, and Andorra.

David Buy, the new Ambassador of Cambodia, has held several high-ranking positions in his country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Chief of Staff and Secretary of State for International Cooperation. His current responsibilities include representing Cambodia in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Malta, and Andorra.

Mahlet Hailu Guadey, the new Ambassador of Ethiopia, brings a strong background in African and international diplomacy. She has served in key diplomatic roles in Los Angeles and Paris. Now, she assumes the position of Ambassador to France, as well as representing Ethiopia in Portugal, Spain, the Holy See, and UNESCO.
