In celebration of the International Day of the Girl, the Mayor of Monaco, Georges Marsan, and his Deputy, Chloé Boscagli Leclercq, hosted a special breakfast to bring attention to gender equality and the rights of young girls.
Joined by members of the Municipal Council, representatives from Monegasque institutions and associations, the group hosted a unique pop-up exhibition showcasing the voices of children on this important subject.
During his welcome speech, Mayor Marsan reaffirmed the Municipality’s commitment to fighting gender inequality and promoting gender parity. “In our society, we must all remain attentive and vigilant to ensure that every little girl has the chance to fully pursue her dreams and ambitions,” he emphasized.
Chloé Boscagli Leclercq then highlighted a collaborative project with Céline Cottalorda, Interministerial Delegate for Women’s Rights. “Like last year, we visited the Mini-Club to engage with children aged six to 12. Through a series of questions about gender equality, these children shared their honest, charming, and poetic thoughts on the subject. Listening to children of the same age each year is incredibly enlightening for us adults. Their voices are important and deserve to be heard,” she said.
The result of these exchanges has been compiled into panels displayed in the Town Hall’s main hall, offering guests and the public a chance to reflect on the thoughts and words of the younger generation.
This initiative underlines the Municipality’s ongoing dedication to women’s rights and collaboration with Monegasque entities to make this issue a priority, ensuring that gender equality remains at the forefront of social discourse in the Principality.
