TV Monaco has secured a significant partnership with AS Monaco Basket, allowing the channel to broadcast live Euroleague matches of the Roca Team across Monaco and France. This collaboration, announced during a press conference, marks a milestone for the national channel, which was launched just a year ago. The first live broadcast under this agreement will air on Thursday, featuring the highly anticipated match between Monaco and Milan, accompanied by pre-match coverage and three documentaries about the Roca Team. The match will also be available for free replay on TV Monaco’s VOD platform.
The deal, signed by Aleksej Fedoricsev, president of Fedcom and the Monaco club, during the channel’s evening news broadcast, extends beyond live match coverage to include additional content and documentaries. TV Monaco’s director, Nathalie Biancolli, emphasized that this partnership signals a major push in sports coverage, hinting at more announcements to come. Besides sports, TV Monaco plans to focus on current affairs as a core theme in its programming.
One year after its launch, TV Monaco has shown impressive growth, producing over 380 news broadcasts, 110 live sports events, and 800 hours of documentary content. The channel, funded entirely by the state, offers more than 1,000 hours of content on its VOD platform. Its social media presence is also expanding, with a 30 percent monthly growth in engagement, likely driven by its team of 85 employees and a diverse programming mix covering local and international news, sports, environment, and lifestyle topics.
Frédéric Cauderlier, editor-in-chief of TV Monaco, highlighted the channel’s commitment to balancing international coverage with a strong local presence. In just a few months, TV Monaco’s news broadcast has become the third most-watched program on TV5Monde, surpassing even the Swiss newscast, and has gained popularity in the United States.
Strategic partnerships with established networks like TV5Monde and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have helped elevate TV Monaco’s profile globally. As Biancolli stated, the channel’s mission is clear: to promote the Principality of Monaco on the international stage.
