Over 800 students from the International School of Monaco (ISM) have begun their new school year in the school’s brand-new facilities in Larvotto. Starting Monday and continuing throughout the week, the 827 enrolled students are gradually settling into the modern premises located at the foot of the Testimonio II project.
Excitement was palpable among students aged 11 to 13 (Years seven to nine) as they returned to school on Tuesday morning. Many expressed enthusiasm for the updated environment. “It’s very beautiful, big, and modern,” said Sophia, a Year nine student, adding that the new building is a significant improvement, being “much more open inside.” Her classmate Isabella agreed, noting the added resources and the convenience of not needing to leave the premises for sports lessons.
Upon arrival, students and their families were welcomed into the school’s new atrium, where they had the opportunity to explore the facilities. Parents are now allowed to enter the premises and even dine in the hall. Following the tour, ISM Principal Stuart Bryan addressed the students in the newly equipped auditorium, after which teachers led guided tours and began the first lessons of the year.
While the older students have already settled in, the younger students, aged three to nine, are set to begin their school year later this week.
