The Principality of Monaco established diplomatic relations with the Plurinational State of Bolivia on July 26, marking Monaco’s 160th diplomatic partnership. The official signing took place in New York, where Ambassadors H.E. Mr. Diego Pary Rodriguez of Bolivia and H.E. Ms. Isabelle Picco of Monaco signed the joint communiqué.

Bolivia, a landlocked South American nation with a diverse, multi-ethnic population, recognises 36 official languages, with Quechua being the most widely spoken. During the signing, the Ambassadors highlighted the significance of culture and multilingualism in fostering mutual understanding, particularly as the United Nations prepares for its Future Summit and the Compact on the Future negotiations.
