Monaco was abuzz as it hosted the grand start of the final time trial stage of the 2024 Tour de France on Sunday, July 21. The event drew a vibrant crowd and numerous personalities, including HSH Prince Albert and Princess Charlene.

From the morning, the Principality’s streets were packed with enthusiastic fans from around the globe, creating a festive atmosphere typical of the Tour de France. The excitement peaked when the Princely couple arrived to witness the first rider, Italy’s Davide Ballerini, set off.

Slovenia’s Tadej Pogačar enjoyed a big turn out of Slovenian supporters, who travelled to the Principality en mass to cheer on their champion as he set off behind the rest of the pack, before completing the final stage of the 111th Tour de France and subsequently claiming his third Tour de France victory.

Earlier in the day, the ‘Ride for Peace’ parade, organised by Peace and Sport in collaboration with Amaury Sport Organisation, added a unique touch to the proceedings. Prince Albert launched the parade, which saw 40 renowned athletes and personalities cycling the 33.7 kilometres from Monaco to Nice’s Place Masséna.
