In 2024, Monaco marks the 15th anniversary of its environmental initiative ‘1 birth = 1 tree,’ conducted in collaboration with the National Forestry Office (ONF). This program, part of the global ‘Plant for the Planet’ campaign sponsored by HSH Prince Albert, ensures a tree is planted for each birth in the Principality.

This year, 804 trees will be planted, bringing the total to over 14,000 since the initiative’s inception in 2008.

A symbolic ceremony took place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the original planting site on the road to La Turbie. Attendees included Deputy Mayor Marjorie Crovetto, Mayor of La Turbie Jean-Jacques Raffaelle, and Fabrice Manzoni from the ONF. Children who had trees planted at their birth 15 years ago were also invited.
