The Roca Team recorded its second win in the semi-finals of the play-offs for the French championship on Tuesday, May 28. As a result, Monaco’s basketball team is one win away from the final of the LNB. Sasa Obradovic’s team recovered from last Saturday’s defeat in Monaco with a win at Bourg-en-Bresse.

Obradovic then stated that the defeat was the result of the Grand Prix in the principality. “My players were too preoccupied with where they were going to experience the Grand Prix and where they were going to eat or party.” On Tuesday, the away game was won 85-81 and so it is 2-1 in this semi-final. On Thursday, May 30, the fourth game will be played in Bourg-en-Bresse.

Mike James completed the comeback for the Roca Team. The hosts started bravely and led 25-14 after the first quarter, but halfway through the game, Monaco had almost completely reduced the deficit: 40-39. The Roca Team actually ran away at the beginning of the first quarter 42-48, but in the end Bourg-en-Bresse came back nicely and was back ahead after thirty minutes: 60-58.

In the end, Monaco made the difference in the final quarter, thanks to the strong play of John Brown, Donta Hall and Mike James. The resistance of the courageous opponent was broken, and in the end Jaron Blossomgame closed the gap, securing the victory with a final score of 81-85. Watch the highlights below:
