HSH Prince Albert inaugurated the Principality’s new Salines car park in the presence of Monaco Minister of State Pierre Dartout and the President of the National Council, Thomas Brezzo on Monday, April 15.
After a plaque was presented to mark the occasion, the sovereign took a tour of the giant 15-floor parking facility, comprised of 1,790 parking spaces for light vehicles, 100 spaces for motorcycles, two Monabike stations, an impressive car wash and a coach storage area.

A pillar of the ‘Mobility Plan’ unveiled by the Prince’s Government on February 9, the implementation of a large-scale new car park at the entrance of Monaco aims to limit urban traffic coming into the country, which causes frustrating levels of congestion at the best of times.
Dramatically reduced parking rates of just 51 euros per month, including free bus travel, will further encourage motorists to leave their car near the French border and away from particularly busy central parts of the Principality. Daily parking rates are much less affordable, standing at 11 euros.
The Salines car park will connect Jardin Exotique with Avenue Pasteur, and provides pedestrians with access to the Princess Grace Hospital via the Galerie des Salines.
