MonacoUSA supporters turned out in force at the Conscientiae restaurant on Tuesday night to learn more about the upcoming TEDx Youth event hosted for the third year by the International School of Monaco. TEDx Youth is part of the global phenomenon of independently organised TED-like conferences celebrating “ideas worth spreading”.

This year’s event on April 6 will feature 11 student speakers aged 10 to 17, and for the first time two adult speakers – a parent from the school and a teacher..This year’s theme is “Reality Check” and the talks will include diverse topics including fake news, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and the workplace, cyberbullying, dreams, reality TV and climate change. The talks will be filmed and shared with millions of viewers on the TED YouTube channel.

According to co-curator Alicia Sedgwick, the TEDxYouth event generates an atmosphere of teamwork, excitement, unity and cohesion  with the full community working together. “TEDxYouth events, organized for and by young people, present a combination of live speakers and TED Talk videos to inspire curiosity, ignite new ideas and empower young leaders.”
