A cache of 21kg of hashish was recovered from a residential building in Beausoleil on Tuesday, February 13, at number 12 rue Jules Ferry, close to the public escalators that are a focal point for drug sellers. The estimated retail value is in excess of 200,000 euros.

A woman was arrested at the scene and collapsed in apparent shock soon afterwards. She was taken by Monaco firefighters to Princess Grace Hospital for treatment. Police officers from Menton are trying to ascertain her role in the affair and are conducting a joint inquiry with local police. The search of her cellar had been in connection with another suspected offence.

The building where the drugs were found is very close to Beausoleil’s municipal police station.
