Marina Development Corporation has signed a partnership with the educational services provider and international schools network Chatsworth Schools, which owns 15 schools and independent nurseries in the United Kingdom.
The private school will open at the yet to be developed Borgo del Forte Campus on unused railway property in Ventimiglia. The plan is for the first students to start in September 2026, subject to the approval of the City Council.
Up to 800 students will be accommodated, from age three to 18.
Blenheim Schools – the international school division of Chatsworth Schools – will be responsible for designing and implementing the educational program and learning spaces of the international school, managing the activities of the entire Campus, as well as acting as a facilitator for the integration between the school and the local community, in agreement with the Municipality of Ventimiglia, according to Italian news service ilsole24ore.com
Residents of Ventimiglia will have “privileged” access through scholarships, discounts on annual fees and controlled prices for access to sports facilities.
Rob Thielen
The school is an integral part of the redevelopment of Ventimiglia spearheaded by multi-millionaire Monaco resident Rob Thielen. He acts as an adviser to the Italian-owned Marina Development Corporation.
Mr Thielen is the Founder and Chairman of Waterland, which says it is one of the best performing private equity groups in the world, with offices in 11 countries in Europe and about 750 acquisitions made in over 20 countries. The private equity group has a combined cumulative capital base of approximately 10 billion euros.
One element of the masterplan for Ventimiglia is a 5-star hotel with 70 rooms and 60 high-end apartments.
