On Friday July 28, an Agreement between the Monegasque Government and France, which aims to establish technical and operational cooperation in sea and port security, was signed in the presence of HE Mr. Pierre Dartout, Minister of State, HE Mr. Laurent Stefanini, Ambassador of France to Monaco, Mr Patrice Cellario, Minister of the Interior and Rear-Admiral Jean-Emmanuel Roux de Luze, Deputy to the Maritime Prefect of the Mediterranean.
This cooperation relates in particular to the fight against trafficking and illegal shipments by sea, the fight against terrorism and the prevention and repression of unlawful acts against the safety of maritime navigation, and maritime and port security, including the protection of ships and port facilities, rescues at sea, protection of the marine environment, education, training and exchanges of good practices.
The signing of this Agreement once again recognises the excellence of Franco-Monegasque relations and the close collaboration between the various institutional entities concerned by issues related to maritime affairs.
