Olivier Thomas took over as Managing Director of Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo on Easter Monday, April 10.
He replaces Ivan Artolli, who is embarking on new projects after a brilliant tenure in the position since 2016.
On arrival in June 2016, Ivan Artolli headed the project launched at the end of 2014 to restructure Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo with a view to full reopening at the end of 2018, intended to make the hotel one of the most prestigious palace hotels in the world. Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo has since received numerous awards and distinctions. Now Ivan Artolli wants to take his professional career in a new direction.
The appointment of Olivier Thomas is part of the Group strategy to reorganise the leading team to support Stephane Valeri, General Manager of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer.
The career path of Olivier Thomas has had an entirely international focus, which is a genuine advantage when it comes to strengthening the positioning and the reputation of Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo around the world.
With the Four Seasons group since 2008, for the past 5 years he was Managing Director of the Four Seasons Hotel in Abu Dhabi. As Managing Director, he also opened the Four Seasons in Casablanca and ran the Four Seasons Hotels in Prague in the Czech Republic and Amman in Jordan.
During his eight years spent with the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Group, he ran the St Regis Hotel in New York, where he worked among others with Chef Alain Ducasse. Other positions also led him to the Savoy Hotel in London and the Plaza Athénée in New York.
On arrival, Olivier Thomas said: “I’m really honoured to arrive in the Principality of Monaco in the most beautiful way by Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo door. I’m really proud to join Group Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer and to become the General Manager of the emblematic Palace of Casino Square. I’m thrilled to lead its professional and passionate teams, which embody excellence of the quality of service and to write next pages of the history of this amazing hotel.”
