Gabriel Revel, Chargé d’Affaires of Monaco to the Council of Europe, has handed over Monaco’s instrument of accession to the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning higher education in the European region (ETS No. 165) to the Deputy General Secretary of the Council of Europe, Mr Bjorn Berge.

This Convention, drawn up jointly by the Council of Europe and UNESCO, makes it possible to facilitate the recognition of diplomas issued in the Principality. Two bodies monitor its implementation, the Convention Committee and the European Network of National Information Centres on Academic Recognition and Mobility (ENIC). Monaco becomes the 55th State Party to this Convention, which will enter into force for the Principality on May 1, 2023.

Monaco’s inclusion will potentially help graduates in Monaco to receive international recognition.
