The latest coronavirus figures in the Principality are encouraging. The benchmark incidence rate fell over the seven days to Sunday, October 16, to 189 per 100,000 population from 235 one week earlier.

The number of residents being treated for coronavirus symptoms at Princess Grace Hospital remains unchanged over the week, at three, while the number of residents recovering at home from mild symptoms stands at 43 (37 one week earlier).

The authorities in France and Monaco had warned of the dangers of an imminent eighth wave, but the fears appear to have been over-stated.
