A number of families may be disappointed by not being able to find a nursery place for their children next spring, but the shortage of places is being addressed, Jean-Luc Magnani, head of the early years service at the Town Hall said.

A total of 440 two and three year-olds found places in September, although fewer youngsters left the creches than entered, he said.
The few families who hope to find a place for their children from next April are being placed on a waiting list.

The shortage of nursery places is being addressed with the planned opening of a 50-place creche in the Testimonio II complex, currently nearing completion, and 30 places on the Boulevard de Belgique in the Palais Honoria.
