Not only will restaurant owners and cafe proprietors soon have the burden of checking the vaccination status of their clients, but they will also be obliged to fire their workers who are not vaccinated themselves.

On Wednesday, July 21, four employers’ organisations issued a joint statement “refusing to bear the cost of dismissing employees who will not be in possession of a valid health pass,” as reported by French daily Le Figaro.

France’s National Assembly is debating a bill that requires professionals to “ensure that their employees are in possession of a valid health pass” and, that “failing to present such proof ”, these employees“ are not authorised to work and they may, if the situation continues for more than two months, be subject to dismissal for a reason that the text qualifies as “specific.”
