Inspired by past editions, the Union International Motonautique has launched the 2020 Environmental Award and Special Mentions. The UIM website states that the award recognises “outstanding environmental leaders, whether individuals or organisations, that have excelled in inspiration, vision, innovation, leadership and initiatives to the benefit of the environment.”

The competition really is open to anyone, but a glance at the award’s previous winners suggests that it won’t be easy. In 2018, it was the Yacht Club de Monaco who stole the show with their ‘Monaco Solar and Energy Boat Challenge’.

The UIM has recently released the entry form for this competition, which can be found here, to enter the event. The deadline is February 1, 2021, and the 2020 UIM Environmental Award Winner and the Special Mentions will be announced by the end of the same month.
